Training and capacity building are two important objectives of the centre and a series
of training programmes/workshops are being planned in consultation with the NRDMS.
The first training workshop was conducted during 6th to 11th February 2008 on a
topic "Geospatial Inter-Operability and Spatial Data Infrastructures". The programme
was attended by participants from different states of the country. The course content
included:
- Principles of databases
- Introduction to UML
- Database design using UML
- Database design and class diagrams
- Geography Markup Language (GML) modelling
- UML - XSD converter, ontology tool
- GML application schema development
- Server side computing with schema generation framework
- Integrating OGC services with work flow using BPML
- SGF and work flow
- Enterprise GIS development and geo-web services
- Web feature service / Web map service prototypes
- Geo-web service on mobile devices
- Introduction to DEEGREE
- Data sharing constraints
- Object Oriented modelling
- Oracle, XMLSpy, FME
- Service oriented architecture
  In addition, periodic in-house training courses are also conducted in the
